Quality Standards and Safex Condoms |
The quality of Safex Condoms is probably the best in the world - read more about quality here. Remember, always use a condom with the BSI Kitemark - it's your guarantee of quality... ...your guarantee of the best protection. |
| The production facility for Safex condoms is estimated to be the third largest in the world.
Running under the stringent conditions imposed by its registration under the British Standards Institute, all packs of Safex condoms carry the British Standards Kitemark (BS ISO:4074: 2002) and our quality system conforms to BS EN/ISO9001. So you can be completely confident of maximum security when you use a Safex product. During the course of manufacture, Safex condoms have to satisfy 22 test procedures, before they can be released for sale, carrying the British Standards Kitemark. The checks include 6 on the raw material, 6 during processing
and 10 on the finished products. Among the operations carried
out are tensile strength tests, water tests to detect seepage
and an airburst test. Electronic testing is completed on every
single condom manufactured. The British Standards Institute make
regular checks to see that the required quality is maintained. The quality standards achieved have helped us to win many contracts to supply Health Authorities and NHS Trusts throughout the United Kingdom. Beware of products without the BSI Kitemark Many condoms sold in vending machines and by retail are labelled as being produced, conforming to or surpassing the (ISO:4074: 2002) standard. Whether or not these claims are true, the lack of a BSI Kitemark on the packaging is lack of any proof to substantiate the claims. We strongly recommend that consumers should check all packaging carefully and purchase only condoms that actually carry the BSI Kitemark. The widespread increase in STIs generally and HIV in particular is too great a concern for the population to risk the use of condoms without the BSI Kitemark. |
